Clouds In My Coffee - 3.6.12

full - 3612

Cardi: Forever 21 @ Lenox Square (2012)
Tee: Mossimo / Target (2009)
Jeans: Tommy Hilfiger / Steinmart (2011)
Earrings: Gifted from M-I-L (2010)
Scarf: Old Navy / oldnavy.com (2010)
Flats: Zara in DC (2011)

March 6th on the Style Me March challenge calendar calls for pattern. I did two patterns. Do I get bonus points? Or at least extra credit for not getting dressed other than pajamas Sat-Sun-Mon? (Confession: I wore this same exact thing minus the scarf to the grocery store last night. I only had it on for an hour or so. I cannot be the only one who does that! Saved me ironing today, anyhow!)

I love these colors. Last week I was in an orange/pink/red mood - this week it looks like greens and blues.

So glad I snagged these flats last summer. They're such a great color and very comfy. All together this was the perfect outfit for a 50-some degree day consisting of lunch with a former co-worker, quick jaunt to the mall, picking the kids up, and going through the Sonic drive-thru for milkshakes (kids) and a diet cherry limeade (me).

Speaking of the mall, the reason I went was to check out The Limited's suit sale - $100 off a purchase of a jacket/pants combo or jacket/skirt combo. I love The Limited's suits so even though I'm not working right now, I wanted to take advantage. The first thing I picked up was this stretch sateen jacket in white:

A white jacket has been on my need want list for awhile and I love this one because it's 3/4-sleeve and lightweight. I have so many ideas as to what to pair this with this summer! I can't wait. (Have I mentioned my slight obsession with jackets/blazers lately? Maybe a little.)

Then I sought out a skirt - I wanted a fun color; they had pencil skirts in sort of an acid green and a kelly green but none in my size. (And none in my size online, either.) Finally I settled on getting this lace overlay skirt but had to order it online as they didn't have my size in the store in that one either. Here it is:

Look, NAVY! And lace! So pretty. I'm sure I will get a lot of use out of that... if I ever get a job that is. (Seriously, I have applied for 15 jobs at this point and have heard NOTHING in return. Nothing! Even for the clerical positions for which I know I am over-qualified. It just gets more and more depressing. No wonder I wore my pajamas all weekend.)

Just got three new catalogs in the mail to drool over before I start dinner (and homework). Such is my life.

P.S. Diet cherry limeade is the BOMB. I'm just sayin'.

  1. now I need to go to The Limited. PS - I LOVE your scarf and we were in the same color mood today - not a big surprise.

I also often re-wear an outfit I have worn just to the grocery store the night before.

  2. Oh Limited suits really are great...and I love your patterns for today; and I "recycle" outfits if I only have them briefly on one day to wear the next!

  3. You're not the only one who does that - I can often get 2-3 wears out of a piece in a week. (Obviously I'm not doing anything very strenuous...)

  5. That really sucks about the job front. Right now, I think I'm 1 interview out of 23 applications ratio. Maybe I need a new suit....

  6. Love the colors, love the patterns!! Good luck on the job front. I lost my job last April and couldn't find a damn thing after so many apps for stuff I too was way too qualified for. Then I took a contract job for a few months just to keep from getting a huge hole on my resume and it earned more money than unemployment. Luckily I scored a great job a month ago and have been sooooo happy. It may take a while, but all will work out! Onward and upward!

  8. Cute shoes! I also recycle my "weekend" outfits. Especially when it's something I really like.

Don't feel down on the job hunt. Call back where you can, and keep at it. You may not have found one yet, but opportunities won't always come to you. You'll find something. <3

  10. This is so so cute. I am digging the blue and green lately too. I thought I had found the perfect green cardi finally this weekend but it fit all weird. Bummer for me. So I don't know if you saw on my blog but I had a target return so I looked for the green necklace, found it!! Thanks for the tip! I also found some great red jeans tonight. I'm going to be on a bright color roll. I think my husband thinks I'm nuts!

  11. Ooh, I love pattern mixing you're doing with the cardi and scarf!

I almost always wear whatever I wore to church Sunday morning, to work on Monday. It's like... I only wore it for 2 hours and no one at work saw me in it, so it really didn't happen. lol
